We have the date set out for the next meeting - it will be on April 22nd. We’ll explore Grails in this meeting with Mark Eagle.

Grails is an exciting platform for rapidly creating quality web applications.  This presentation will describe what Grails is and how it works under the covers.  The majority of the presentation will be focused on building an application using Grails from the ground up.  Come see what the buzz is all about and how much simpler and fun building web applications can be with Grails.

Speaker’s Bio: Mark Eagle is the Internet Development Manager at IntercontinentalExchange Inc. in Atlanta, GA.  IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE) operates leading regulated exchanges, trading platforms and clearing houses serving the global markets for agricultural, credit, currency, emissions, energy and equity index markets. He has worked with Java for over 10 years and enjoys development with other languages such as Groovy, Ruby, and Scala.  Mark has been a speaker at various user groups, a technical reviewer for Manning publications, technical author, and contributes to open source software projects.  Mark specializes in large-scale web application development for mission-critical use.  He has designed and developed enterprise applications in the oil, chemical, lottery, recruiting, and media industries.
